Hydrangea

  • Description

Hydrangeas have been popular garden plants for decades. Older varieties add sentimental charm, while newer ones now offer an even wider variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. Hydrangeas put on a showy display from early spring all the way into fall and thrive in both sandy coastal soils and in shady woodland sites and almost everything in-between. Hydrangea blooms can be white, pink, or blue depending on the soil's pH.

  • Care Information

Spring and fall are ideal times to plant hydrangeas. As long as they are planted in well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter, they should grow well.Avoid planting hydrangeas in summer when temperatures are mid 80s°F or higher unless you can keep them watered and will not let them dry out. Hydrangeas will grow best in full to partial shade. In hot climates, hydrangeas will do best with some shade.
